In response to media interest on Hsin Chong Construction Group's participation in the recent Chinese delegation visit to Brasilia, Brazil on the Twin Ocean Railroad Connection project, the company is pleased to provide the following information.
Hsin Chong Construction Group (“Hsin Chong”) is honoured to have been among the companies arranged by the Chinese Embassy in Brazil to participate in discussions with senior government officials and senators in Brazil on the Twin Ocean transcontinental railroad project that would provide a East-West connection in South America through Brazil and Peru, improving transcontinental transport of goods and opening up a more direct trade route to China and the rest of Asia. The purpose of the visit was to seek better understanding of the project and its progress to date and to explore possible opportunities for participation. Hsin Chong's delegation was led by Non-executive Chairman Mr Lin Zhuo
Yan and Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer Ir Joseph Choi.
The Twin Ocean project comes under Mainland China's Belt and Road initiative and Chinese Premier Mr Li Keqiang had signed a memorandum of understanding on the project with his counterparts in Brazil and Peru during a visit last year.
With its rich background in infrastructure development, Hsin Chong looks to support Mainland China's Belt and Road initiative, having actively joined a number of international conferences over the last year which have been held to identify opportunities for participation.
